Live Vintage Jazz Vocalist for Weddings
Ceremonies · Drinks Receptions · Wedding Breakfasts
Live jazz creates an atmosphere that no playlist can replicate. Whether you want romantic ballads drifting across a drinks reception, swing standards during a wedding breakfast or the warmth of the American Songbook setting the tone for your ceremony, Kitty brings elegance, sophistication and a genuine focal point to your day.
Kitty has been performing at weddings across Berkshire and the South of England since 2013, at venues including The Swan at Streatley, Elcot Park, The Great House Sonning, The Leander Club Henley, Donnington Valley Hotel, Reading Abbey Ruins and The Royal Beach Hotel in Portsmouth.
What Kitty Performs at Weddings
“The atmosphere your event deserves.”
The repertoire spans four decades of the Great American Songbook — jazz standards, swing classics and romantic ballads from the 1920s to the 1960s. Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington. The music your guests know and love, performed live with the phrasing and warmth the songs were written for.
Sets are tailored to each part of your day. Kitty will discuss your preferences ahead of the event and send over her full repertoire list so you can choose your favourites. A small number of requests can be accommodated, and she is happy to learn one song outside her usual repertoire for a special moment such as a first dance — this is quoted separately.
How Kitty Fits Into Your Day
Wedding
Ceremonies
Romantic ballads and timeless standards to accompany your ceremony — processional, signing of the register and recessional. Live vocal performance creates a presence and intimacy that recorded music cannot.
Drinks Receptions &
Cocktail Hours
This is where live jazz works best. Kitty performs as guests arrive and mingle, creating warmth and atmosphere without demanding attention. Elegant music with a genuine focal point for the room.
Wedding
Breakfasts
Sophisticated standards and gentle swing to accompany your meal. The music fills the room without overpowering conversation, creating the kind of atmosphere your guests will talk about for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Weddings where atmosphere matters: country house celebrations, estate venues, manor houses, garden parties and formal dining. Kitty is light entertainment in the best sense: she creates a focal point and lifts the room without replacing a DJ or band. She is particularly well suited to ceremonies, drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts.
-
Yes. Once booked, Kitty sends over her full repertoire list and you can choose your favourites. She can accommodate a small number of requests and is happy to learn one song outside her usual style for a special moment such as a first dance. A learning fee applies for additional songs outside the standard repertoire.
-
Yes. Many couples book Kitty across multiple parts of the day: ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast, or a combination of these. Each element is shaped around the mood and timing of your occasion. Sets are charged per singing time, with a waiting fee if breaks between sets exceed 30 minutes.
-
The music Kitty performs was written for dancing, but the kind of dancing people did in the 1920s, 30s and 40s. If your guests include lindy hop or modern jive dancers who love to dance to big band and boogie woogie, then absolutely yes, and sets can be tailored towards the dancefloor rather than atmospheric listening.
For most multigenerational wedding parties where guests won't know the social dancing steps, live jazz works best during the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. If you want people up dancing later in the evening, the best solution is to book Kitty for the earlier parts of the day and bring in a function band or disco for the dancing portion. Most couples do exactly that.
