Kitty Mazinsky performs vintage jazz, swing and Great American Songbook classics for private parties and celebrations across the South of England. Over more than a decade of performing, she has sung at milestone birthdays, anniversaries, garden parties, private dinners and family celebrations in country houses, hotels, clubs, restaurants, gardens and private homes.

The repertoire spans the 1920s to the 1960s, from Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Cole Porter to Doris Day, Peggy Lee and The Andrews Sisters. Music and set lengths are planned around your occasion, whether you would like relaxed jazz over drinks and dinner, a feature performance or upbeat swing as the party gets going.

Milestone Birthdays

Kitty has performed for birthdays from 30th and 40th celebrations through to 50th, 60th, 70th and 80th parties. Sets can include favourite songs and artists, music from a particular decade, relaxed jazz during drinks or dinner and livelier swing later in the celebration.

Anniversaries & Special Occasions

The Great American Songbook has a wonderful repertoire for anniversaries, engagements and family celebrations. Romantic standards can be combined with music from the era you met or married, and Kitty is happy to discuss a particular song if it has special significance.

Garden Parties & Private Dining

Live jazz works beautifully over champagne in the garden, cocktails before dinner or around the table during a private meal. Kitty adjusts the repertoire, volume and pace to the occasion, allowing conversation and music to sit comfortably together.

Music & Formats

Kitty performs in four configurations depending on the size, setting and style of your celebration.

Most private party bookings are solo with professional backing tracks. The arrangements are full, polished versions of familiar jazz and swing standards and allow a rich sound within a compact performance space. This works particularly well for private homes, garden parties, restaurants, drinks receptions and dinners.

For a fully live ensemble, Kitty also performs as a duo with piano, trio with piano and double bass, or quartet with piano, double bass and percussion. For larger celebrations, she can perform with Apollo Big Band.

Repertoire can be tailored across the 1920s to 1960s. A celebration might begin with Ella Fitzgerald, Cole Porter and Gershwin over drinks, move through romantic standards during dinner and become more upbeat with swing as the evening develops. Dedicated 1920s, 1940s, and 1950s sets are also available for vintage-themed parties.

All equipment is provided, PAT tested and covered by Public Liability Insurance through the Musicians’ Union. Kitty will discuss timings, access, set lengths and the running order with you before the event.

  • Yes. Kitty will discuss the music with you before the event and can shape the repertoire around the atmosphere you would like, favourite artists and particular eras. If there is a specific song that means something to you, mention it when you enquire.

  • Yes. Jazz and American Songbook standards work particularly well during drinks and dining. Volume and repertoire are adjusted to the setting so that guests can comfortably enjoy both the music and conversation.

  • Yes. Kitty performs at private homes and outdoor celebrations as well as established venues. A suitable performance area, access to power and protection from unsuitable weather will be needed for an outdoor performance, and the practical details can be discussed in advance.

  • Yes. PA and sound equipment can be provided, with equipment PAT tested and Public Liability Insurance held through the Musicians’ Union.

  • Yes. Kitty performs solo with professional backing tracks, as a duo with piano, trio with piano and double bass, quartet with piano, double bass and percussion, or with Apollo Big Band for larger celebrations.

  • Set lengths and timings are agreed around the occasion. Kitty can perform during one part of your celebration or across a longer period, with breaks arranged around speeches, food and other parts of the event.
