Well, it was rather an exciting October here at Kitty’s vintage HQ.  There was the small matter of getting married (!), followed by a mini-moon in Cornwall.  The trip down to Bude was slightly truncated following the very exciting invitation to perform with 2013 Has Reading Got Talent? winner Luke Upton at the 2014 Pride of Reading Awards.  The awards have been going for 11 years and celebrate those doing extraordinary things for the local community.  The event was hosted by Chris Tarrant, and also in attendance were Martha from this year’s Great British Bake Off, who created a dessert for the lunchtime meal, Reading FC co-Chairman Sir John Madejski and current Reading FC Captain Jem Karacan who sat on our table, although this was perhaps wasted on me: a musician with approximately zero football knowledge.  It was wonderful, however, to be a part of an event celebrating local talent and community spirit, and we were all moved by the actions of so many of the award winners who are doing such good in our local area.  It was a real treat to perform with the winners of Has Reading Got Talent from 2014 (the wonderfully talented and sweet opera-singer-in-training Stephanie Hershaw) and 2013 (the suave gent with the velvet voice and fabulous coif, Luke Upton).  I will put a few videos on my facebook page.  See coverage from the Reading Evening Post website here.
